About

A press for books that fell out of print, not out of use.

The Upward Call Press is the work of a husband-and-wife team. We are mature evangelical Christians, not tied to any one denomination, who have served in a variety of lay ministries for over 40 years. We love the gospel, Christ’s church, and good Christian literature. We are committed to careful, high-quality editions of choice out-of-print books that still serve and edify the church and its leaders.

What we publish

Our first list is evangelical and pastoral—works on building the church, preaching, revival, and the care of souls. These are the kinds of nineteenth-century volumes that have often fallen out of print even though they remain practical and useful. We start with public-domain classics we can document carefully, and we will consider other titles when the rights are clear.

If you know of a public-domain or rights-cleared book of this kind that you would like to see kept in print, we welcome suggestions.

Not for profit

This is not a for-profit venture. Prices are kept low, and all proceeds go back into the printing and distribution of hard copies. If the price is an issue for you, or if you need bulk copies for a church, staff, or study group, please contact us.

Our name

The name is taken from Philippians 3:14: “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (NKJV). The work of the press is a small piece of that same motion—recovering books that still serve the church, and putting them back in reach.
